Over a year ago, Jonathan Nicolas and his girlfriend Céline took over the management of the SPAR in the center of Golfe-Juan, and very close to the Port Camille RAYON.
“We dedicated the first year to the reorganization of the store” explains the new manager. Jonathan is familiar with this kind of rehabilitation as, since he turned 15, he learned his future job with his father who was salesman in fruit and vegetable sector.
Jonathan chose to pass a professional baccalaureate with the idea to continue in the agri-food sector, with an essential phase in a supermarket. He then started to work for a mass distribution brand until the replacement of a department manager.
Along his encounters and with his experiences, Jonathan Nicolas took the management of a supermarket before buying a store in Raphèle les Arles. The young couple undertook the challenge with their strong sense of client service.
That is when the project of taking over a small grocery shop emerged. “The store needed to be restructured and renovated. Our challenge was to do so in a year and we made it” says Jonathan.
With this first step out of the way, his ambition is to develop shelf space and increase sales space. To do this, Jonathan and Celine surrounded themselves with a qualified team. “We want to offer longer opening hours, Sunday openings. Locals know the store for 30 years and we intend to satisfy our clients and offer new services such as free deliveries from 40 € and telephone orders.”
The new Spar management is also offering this local service to the boaters and various businesses of the Port Camille Rayon.
“Since we arrived, we noticed the benefits of moving closer to the port, thanks to the international presence of our brand. We adapt to all demands, as for big yachts, we would rather say “food provisioning” than regular grocery shopping. We are committed to deliver rapidly, and if we are missing the products ordered, we sort things out and find them somewhere else.”
On this second summer, the store will be open 7 days a week in July and August, from 7am to 9pm. And from now on, the team is welcoming you from 7h30am to 8.30pm from Monday to Saturday and from 8am to 8pm on Sundays.
