- How many years have you been collaborating with the port and what are the biggest changes you have experienced?
My arrival in the company dates back to July 01, 2004 as harbor master, then I was appointed principal harbor master in 2007, and since 2017 deputy Director. I therefore assisted and participated in the repair of the quays and aging pontoons as well as to the general refurbishment and restructuring of certain areas of the concession. I also appreciated the arrival of new technologies which are a huge help in our various activities.
- Can you describe your role within port Camille Rayon?
My role is to ensure the good condition of the land and underwater port infrastructures (water, electricity, moorings, waterproofing of buildings, waste management, etc.) as well as the proper functioning of the technologies available to employees for the management of the port (internet connection, WIFI, radio networks, consumptions reading, CCTV system, IT, port management software, etc.). I am also responsible, along with the Director, and the administrative service for setting up and monitoring training courses for the team habilitation.
- If you had to define yourself in three words?
Dedicated, persevering, energetic.
- In your opinion, what is the major difference between the Camille Rayon port and another port on the French Riviera?
First, the configuration and its ideal location, sheltered from the prevailing winds and easterly swells. Then its strategic position 25 nautical miles from the two poles of attraction of the French Riviera: MONACO to the East and St TROPEZ to the West, and the LERINS Islands ten minutes away.
Then of course the service provided by our teams who do a tremendous job, which strengthens the links that unite us with our boaters and the crews of the superyachting area who take part in the life of the port.
- Your best memory in the port?
The day of the thirtieth anniversary of the Port with during the fireworks display a special thought for our founder and former CEO, Mr. Camille RAYON.
